Get ready for the flavor of the Bay Area because San Francisco restaurants are simply some of the best in America. What are you in the mood for? A delicious spice-rubbed steak or some fresh seafood? Maybe some interesting fusion food is more your style? Whatever food tickles your fancy, you’ll find it in bustling San Francisco.

A Steak

to Die For

Harris’s Restaurant (located at 2100 Van Ness Avenue in the Russian Hill neighborhood) has a reputation that is well-deserved. This fine dining establishment specializes in steaks that are cooked to perfection. It is considered one of the “best of the best” and the service is out of this world. You’ll feel like you’re being spoiled as you cut into a house-aged steak and enjoy decadent scalloped potatoes. A little pricey, but worth every penny.

Boboquivari’s (more commonly known as Bobo’s) The Steak

The Crab can be found at 1450 Lombard Street. It’s more relaxed than your average steakhouse, with its funky decor and accommodating (but not suffocating) service. Most importantly, you’ll be raving about the steaks for years. Try the bone-in filet mignon and the twice-baked potato and you’ll never look back.

Fresh, Delicious Seafood

It’s no surprise that being close to the ocean makes San Francisco restaurants great choices for seafood. Be sure to check out the Swan Oyster Deport, at 1517 Polk Street. The service is terrific and you’ll love the cheerful atmosphere. The portions are generous and affordably priced. Of course, the food is amazing! Order the chowder and the fresh oysters and you’ll be in for a treat.

Scoma’s Restaurant is a bit of a hidden gem. It is located at Pier 47, tucked away from the main street of Fisherman’s Wharf. The restaurant is cozy and can get a bit loud when it’s crowded, but the food is what speaks volumes. The lobster ravioli are so stuffed that they nearly explode with meat and come with a delicious cream sauce. You’ll also wish that the lip-smacking lobster bisque came with free refills!

Creative Fusion Food

SF is also home to fun fusion restaurants that blend two different cuisines. Among the best is Saha Arabic Fusion Restaurant, which can be found at 1075 Sutter Street. The ambiance is plush with lots of pillows and glowing candles. The portions are generous and the dishes meld traditional Arabic food with creative touches. Saha also has terrific vegan and vegetarian options like the tasty vegetarian bastilla.

You’ll find Roy’s Restaurant in the heart of SoMa at 575 Mission Street. This San Francisco restaurant offers Hawaiian fusion cuisine and fun cocktails. Order the mango mojito or the Hawaiian martini (a blend of pineapples with vanilla and coconut vodka). The macadamia nut crusted mahi mahi and the ponzu drizzle salmon will have you begging for more. And no one should leave Roy’s without trying the caramel macadamia tart dessert!

San Francisco restaurants are as creative as they are delicious. Dining on your vacation should be as enjoyable as all the sightseeing you’ll do.
